So, today, we bring to the Cross all our painful and oppressive silences. We bring the unhappy silence of those who don’t know what to say. The silence of grief or of anger. The silence of shame at some failure. The silence of those who can no longer make sense of what we are living through. We entrust them to the Word of life on the Cross. He embraces them in his silence which is filled with a love beyond all words.
