A tribute in Istanbul to the Shajareh Tayyebeh school, where 168, mostly children, died

Both sides in the war claim to be acting in ‘legitimate self-defence’. More than a thousand have died, millions more displaced and its economic consequences are being felt by people around the world.

The father of a girl who attended the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab in Iran said he received a message asking him “to come as quickly as possible and take our daughter home”. However, when he arrived at the school, “My little girl was completely burned. There was nothing left of her,” he said. “We could only identify her from her school bag, which she was still holding.”
