There is a worrying link between growing support for far-right parties in Europe and increasing restrictions on freedom of the press.

The Christian Gospel preaches tolerance, acceptance, social harmony and inclusion, not hostility and rejection. Germany’s Catholic bishops have been quick to reject the far right’s poisonous claims. Other church leaders across Europe should follow their example.
