Interest in environmental justice and Creation Theology was sparked while she worked as a volunteer teacher in Nigeria in the 1980s, and witnessing the link between climate change, desertification and poverty. She then worked for CAFOD for eight years, as their campaign coordinator on the ‘Renewing the Earth’ campaign and wrote regularly on development issues. She has produced several study programmes for Christian groups, including, ‘Paint the Church Green’, ‘Our Earth, Our Home – Green assemblies for primary schools’, ‘Between the Flood and the Rainbow – Climate Change and the Church’s Social Teaching’ and the Columban study programme on Laudato Si’.
