Start Your Morning with Words, Wonder & Creativity
We’re delighted to be partnering once again with Write & Shine for a special series of early-morning creative writing workshops, led by author and facilitator Gemma Seltzer, founder of the acclaimed Write & Shine workshop series.
These relaxed and welcoming sessions are a chance to pause, reflect and get creative at the start of your day. Through imaginative writing prompts inspired by literature, art and the natural world, Gemma will encourage you to explore ideas, memories and stories in new ways.
You’ll write throughout each session, with no pressure to share your work. The aim is simply to let your ideas emerge freely and discover where your imagination takes you.
Whether you’re completely new to creative writing or an experienced writer looking for fresh inspiration, or evening purchasing this package as a unique gift, each participant will leave each workshop with new pieces of writing, creative prompts to explore and renewed momentum.
Workshop 1: Gathering the Harvest (Click here to book)
Wednesday 21 October
As autumn brings the harvest season, we’ll explore the stories, memories and spiritual reflections that emerge from this time of year.
We’ll read poems about gratitude and thanksgiving, and reflect on themes of stewardship, abundance and caring for one another.
Craft focus: Generating ideas and developing them into poems and stories, exploring how writers nurture an initial spark and turn it into a finished piece.
Workshop 2: Remembrance & Hope (Click here to book)
Wednesday 25 November
Great writing begins with honest emotion. During this month of remembrance, we’ll explore the full emotional spectrum of memory and experience — from longing and uncertainty to joy and hope.
Through guided writing exercises, we’ll consider how these powerful emotions can find expression in poems and stories.
Craft focus: Creating powerful beginnings and endings, and learning how to build resonance, closure and emotional impact into your writing.
Workshop 3: Waiting & Wonder (Click here to book)
Wednesday 9 December
Inspired by the themes of Advent — hope, anticipation and light in the darkness — we’ll explore longing, promise and wonder through a series of guided writing exercises.
We’ll also take time to notice the beauty and moments of awe hidden within everyday life, and consider how these observations can become the starting point for creative writing.
Craft focus: Transforming personal experiences, memories, observations and everyday moments into compelling creative writing.
Start Your Day Inspired
All workshops take place on Zoom.
Come as you are, take some time for yourself, and start the morning with words, creativity and a little wonder.
