Thank you for your editorial (“Reform must be stopped”, 23 May). It states clearly what horrors could await our country if Reform were to be successful.
The knowledge of these horrors must be stated loudly and clearly by our bishops and priests. They and other leaders of denominations and faiths have rightly condemned “hate”. This is not enough. Many of the good people, no doubt including faithful Christians, do not see hate in the benign face of Nigel Farage.
It needs to be spelt out that a party that proposes such policies is not only “heartless and immoral”, but evil and wicked.
Pope Leo has set an example. Without mentioning Donald Trump by name, he has made his condemnation of Trump’s actions quite clear.
