Minister meets Vatican envoy ahead of Syria talks

A Vatican diplomat this week met the British Government Minister with responsibility for the Middle East on the eve of a conference in London on Syria, writes Christopher Lamb. Tory MP Tobias Ellwood (pictured) was in Rome to meet Archbishop Paul Gallagher, the Holy See’s Secretary for Relations with States, before the archbishop travelled to the United Kingdom for the Syria gathering, organised by the British Government to help the plight of the Syrian people (more than 13 million have been displaced or are vulnerable).
