Justice group opposes nationalism


Justice and Peace Europe, which groups 31 national church commissions on social justice, has called on European civil society and Catholic groups to “speak out against and question all expressions of nationalist rhetoric in private and in public life”, writes Tom Heneghan.

“The Christian vision of universal justice and peace does not allow for any kind of chauvinism,” the Brussels-based group said as it launched a joint initiative to combat the “growing racism and xenophobia in Europe” reflected in the success of nationalist parties across the continent.
