Perceptions can be misleading.
Christ's mother did not find herself excluded. God provided for her every need. He went before her. So with us. The only one we have to worry about being excluded by is God, Who we know. does not exclude those who ask. If we are close to God and doing his will being excluded from earthly entities means nothing.
Ultimately It all depends on what one believes about the sancitity of the Church.
