How many of us watching the heartbreaking scenes of the plight of refugees being played out daily on our television screens are desperately wondering what can we practically do to help? What a wonderful witness to our faith – and culture – it would be if every parish in the country was to “sponsor” a family and offer them the chance of a new life of safety and security. Is this really just a pipe dream?
