St Peter’s Square has been packed every week for the papal general audience since Pope Francis was elected, and Wednesday 3 February was no exception. Among those to whom the Pope stopped to speak that day was British actor Joseph Fiennes, his wife Maria Dolores Dieguez and their two children. One of Fiennes’ most recent roles was playing Monsignor Timothy Howard in the US television production American Horror Story: Asylum. Fiennes comes from a distinguished Catholic family: his great-uncle was the late Sebastian Moore, a monk of Downside, and his uncle is Nicholas Lash, the theologian.
