The Tablet’s obituary of the untimely death of Fr Robert Kaggwa took one Mill Hill missionary back to a village in Uganda in the early 1960s. Fr Hans Burgman worked in Kampala from 1957 to 1962, and among his close friends was a father of four called John Kazibwe. He lost contact with the family, so had no idea that the youngest child, Robert, became a priest and a White Father (Society of African Missions), until he read last week’s obituary.
