One of the most iconic images of the Troubles is the harrowing photograph of Fr Alec Reid in 1988, bent over one of the two bodies of British Army Royal Signals, delivering the last rites, after an IRA mob attending the funeral in Belfast of the Gibraltar Three had lynched the two corporals.
