Auza lays down Vatican demands


At the Organization of American States (OAS) meeting that took place from June 19-21 in Cancun, Mexico, the Vatican’s Permanent Observer to the United Nations, Archbishop Bernardito Auza, said the Government of Nicolás Maduro must allow food and medicine into the country, free political prisoners and name dates for postponed elections. Meanwhile Venezuelan Bishop Oswaldo Azuaje Pérez of Trujillo pleaded: “In the name of God, do not kill young Venezuelans,” after 22-year-old David Vallenilla was shot three times by military police during a 22 June demonstration in Caracas.
