In “Men’s stuff” (Notebook, 31 October) it is stated that the Little Brothers of Jesus were “founded by Charles de Foucauld”. In fact, it is part of Blessed Charles’ extraordinary story that during his lifetime no one else was able to maintain the rigorous life of service to the poorest of the poor which he led in the southern Sahara, and it was only some years after he was killed on 1 December 1916 that the many groups he inspired came to be.(FR) BOB RAINBOW
