Your analysis (“Witness to the world’s poor”, 23 May) of the direction taken by Caritas Internationalis (CI) under my tenure as secretary general is both naive and misleading. For example, support for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) did not begin in 2010, as you suggest. CI and its member organisations, including Cafod, supported the MDGs from their inception in 2000.
