Speaking truth to power: a pastoral organisation in Australia provides support to survivors
Crisis in the Australian Church
We have just closed our office on Thursday 14 December for our Christmas and summer leave, at the end of another tumultuous week. We are the In Good Faith Foundation, a prominent pastoral organisation in Melbourne working nationally and internationally on cases advocating and supporting 650 survivors of church-related abuse. We also respond to survivors’ experiences of systemic and institutional abuse, as further levels of harm involving church personnel and structures in Australia have been emerging.
This morning our small team watched live streaming of the ceremonial closure of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
