We celebrate the solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday, to draw attention to that Life which the Eucharist gives us. It is a fuller echo of the Most Holy Trinity, in such a way that the Divine Life is shared by our souls through this Sacrament. This is a deepest, innermost mystery and we accept it with all our hearts, with all our interior “ego” … However, there is but one day, and one time, when we desire to give particular external and public expression to this reality. That day is today. It is an expression of love and veneration.
