Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling-places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. John 14: 1-3We have to be silent to our affections, our antipathies, our desires, especially when they are overly ardent. We have to be silent to zeal when it becomes indiscreet, silent to fervour when it is exaggerated…A silent heart is a pure heart; a melody singing in the heart of God. Like a sacristy lamp flickering noiselessly at the tabernacle, and like incense silently rising at the Saviour’s throne, such is love’s silence. Mari
