Care for the planet and the dangers of climate change, highlighted in Pope Francis’ speech to the United Nations last month, will also impact on patterns of prayer, liturgy and spirituality Pope francis has taken a prophetic role in his encyclical Laudato si’ –  and he is asking us to become a prophetic Church. His high-profile and deeply personal campaign on climate and justice with this encyclical, together with his speeches in the US Congress and the UN, is extraordinary. It is also a strategy with risks.  Not particularly because people will not listen – many millions will; many of those will not be Roman Catholic, or even people of faith. Rather the risk is that even prayerful and committed members of the Catholic community might turn out to be apat
