Every Scottish schoolchild knows the story of St Margaret, who was this week named patron saint of the Scottish aid charity SCIAF as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations. Born in exile in Hungary, Margaret came to England when her father was mooted as a possible successor to the childless Edward the Confessor.
