An openly gay man has appeared in a film distributed online by the Holy See this week, in what is probably a first. Jean-Pier Delaume-Myard, a film-maker from Paris (pictured), appears in one of six short films released as part of the Humanum conference on marriage, which took place in the Vatican this week. He is interviewed in the film entitled The Cradle of Life and Love: a Mother and Father for the World’s Children, which looks at what it means to bring children into the world, and what rights young people have.Delaume-Myard says he and his partner considered having a child, perhaps through adoption. “But we realised very quickly that it was selfish because, as homosexuals, we did not want the mother of this child [in our lives].
