Ecumenical stretch


 
Good ecumenical relations will undoubtedly be a priority for Mark O’Toole, who was last week ordained the new Bishop of Plymouth in front of hundreds of dignitaries, including many representatives from Christian Churches. But will that stretch to his new neighbours, GOD TV? The international Evangelical channel, started in England by Rory and Wendy Alec in 1995, has just taken over the long-abandoned Millennium nightclub complex on Union Street. The venue, which has housed strip clubs and casinos, fell into disrepair and has been largely derelict for a decade.
