Blairite ordinariate?


 
There was a flutter of excitement when one member of the congregation took their place for the ordinariate’s Epiphany Carol Service in central London last Thursday. The former Prime Minister Tony Blair, along with his wife, Cherie, made an unexpected appearance at Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory’s Church, in Warwick Street, Soho. Music for the service was provided by the Schola Cantorum of the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, in which the Blairs’ youngest son, Leo, sings.Blair, who was received into the Church months after leaving Downing Street in 2007, sat on one of the front pews for the candle-lit service, which featured readings from Scripture and other literature; among the speakers was the Tory MP Sir Edward Leigh. The Blairs did not stay for refreshmen
