Silence of the bishops
Our country has just taken a decision of global significance. It has not been just about us and the EU but international relations. Before the general election there was a combined pastoral letter from the Bishops of England and Wales.

Had they nothing to say about the Referendum?

Brexit - what next?
Cardinal Nichols has requested prayers for unity as we leave the EU. I would urge people to consider the plight of the many thousands of EU citizens who have been in the UK for less than five years, including our much-loved fellow parishioners who work, pay taxes and whose children attend our schools. These people may come to have no rights to stay in the United Kingdom. In addition to prayers the Church should mount a nationwide campaign to urge the British government to acknowledge the contribution that these people have made to our country and offer them immediate British citizenship, regardless of period of residency.
