Ethical foreign policy


 
It was heartening to read your editorial “Principles should come first” (17 October). People are becoming increasingly aware of the barbaric sharia laws that are being applied in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere, to which governments such as ours turn a blind eye, usually in favour of arms trade. Let’s hope that an ethical foreign policy may now at last be implemented.Also, and very importantly, could our Government also take into consideration the ancient Christians of the Middle East who are being systematically eradicated by IS, and Christian groups being persecuted in Muslim majority countries such as Pakistan?
