Unfair to submariners


 
The phrase in Brian Wicker’s letter on Trident (25 April), “people sitting in submarines who are ready and willing to murder millions of innocent people”, is totally wrong and insulting to dedicated professional naval personnel who man the submarines. People join the military to serve their country and know that they may at some time be called upon to be “ready and willing” to fight and, perhaps, die or be maimed in that service.
