Julia Langdon’s article looking ahead to the general election (“Year of living dangerously”, 3 January) fails to even mention the Green Party and the surge in Green membership over the last year. Yet again, Ukip, with its MPs elected at by-elections, gets all the publicity, and the Green Party, with an active MP since the last general election, seems to be ignored.Given the common ground between much of Catholic Social Teaching and Green Party policies, which extend far beyond purely environmental matters, I trust this imbalance will be corrected by another Tablet article analysing the Green Party’s role in and potential to change the balance of UK politics. At the very least, a look at who is joining the Greens, and why, might usefully inform the debate about redu
