There seems little doubt some communicants are squeamish about receiving the Eucharist from the same vessel (Letters, 8 November), well wiped or not. A possible solution may be the practice I observed many years ago at a Greek Catholic church in Lebanon. Outside the church doors large trays were set up holding many tiny glass cruets, each containing a mouthful of wine. Those who wished chose a cruet and handed it to an attendant.
