Prayer is the song of one who strives to see the majesty and beauty of God; who can admire the wonders of the created universe in order to wonder at the Creator whose majesty and beauty those created things mirror. It is a song of response from one who has reflected on the greatness of God’s love for him and who strives to return love for love. But in our day-to-day life it may often not be easy to react along these lines. That is why we have to treasure moments of solitude and silence, why we must strive to dwell on the things of God in our reading of the Scriptures, in our pondering on the happenings of the day, in our thinking.
