Heart has its reasons: Broadcaster torn between story of St John Paul II and his own catholicism

I don't understand the expression "torn" in the headline---it implies that the journalist had 2 competing POVs to reconcile--e.g a saint vs a sinner. When in fact the major point in the article is the difficulty the writer had in getting enough factual info in order to reach conclusions and make judgements. He wasn't "torn", just frustrated, and his catholicism had nothing to do with it. So please give us headlines that reflect the facts.
