Air strikes and ground fighting have forced the development charity Progressio to suspend its projects in Yemen after 40 years, leaving millions of women and children at risk
Early morning explosions have become a daily occurrence in Yemen, and abduction or death is an ever-present danger. “It is not easy to live in such a risky place,” explains Abeer Al-Absi of Progressio. “You cannot comfortably move from your home to your work. You expect to be killed at any moment either due to the air raids, or to the war in the streets. Even at home, we do not feel safe.
