One of the many events in Rome marking the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity was co-sponsored by the Centro Pro Unione and the Lay Centre at the former’s historic location in the palazzo belonging to the Doria Pamphilj family on Piazza Navona.The participants gathered first for an ecumenical celebration of the Word presided over by the seemingly omnipresent David Moxon, the Archbishop of Canterbury’s ­representative to the Holy See and the ­director of the Anglican Centre.Tim Macquiban, pastor of Rome’s Ponte Sant’Angelo Methodist Church, led the singing of some of Charles Wesley’s hymns and gave a stirring sermon.
