L’Arche spirit

Christmas cards from high-profile figures are renowned for being staged self-portraiture. Not so for the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who this year sent out cards in support of L’Arche, the international Catholic federation of communities that supports people with learning disabilities. The image on the front of the card [pictured] is of a plaque given to the archbishop by members of L’Arche London when they visited Lambeth Palace on a pilgrimage last spring.
