Any colour but red


Worthy as it may be to enhance the role of women in the Church (Michael Egan, Letters, 2 November) Canon 351 of the new Code of Canon Law directs that “men who have been ordained at least into the Order of Presbyterate” may be appointed cardinal. So no red hats for women, worthy as they may be to wear them.
