Three long years

For close on three years now the Church in the English-speaking world has suffered a “translation” of the liturgy that is virtually incomprehensible to an English speaker. Any attempts to follow the prayer can leave one bemused, however attractive the underlying theme may be. Therefore many of us are driven to ignore what is being said aloud in order to pray. Is it not extraordinary that an institutional Church should be responsible for this state of affairs when it claims to follow Jesus who was a master of clear and concise prayer and teaching? Surely it is timely and apposite to radically review this unsatisfactory state of affairs and to restore genuine English to the liturgy.
