Anglican clergy who became Catholic priests because of women's ordination are not misogynists

I wonder how many misogynist Catholic priests, who formerly were Anglicans, Pat Brown has actually met [The Tablet, 16 August]?

In my 15 years as a Catholic priest I seem to have missed them. I became a Catholic because of the question of authority. Like Cardinal Newman before he was received into the Catholic Church, I thought the Anglican Church was part of the wider Catholic Church. The unilateral decision to change Church order made me finally accept the view of the majority of my Anglican brethren, that it was not. Not without much heartache, and a nervous breakdown, having loved the Anglican Church and served it as a priest for 33 years, I realised the need for the Petrine office. I sadly watch the disintegration of the Anglican Communion, over women, abortion, homosexual practice and now euthanasia. I rejoice every day at being a Catholic.
