Libby Purves (“No more room for the inn crowd”, 15 December) always imbues her writing with a comedic but meaningful slant, so I loved reading about her worldwide nativity scenes and the resonance and affection that is manifest in each one. Her wondrous collection has not only given delight and succour to so many people, but has raised money for charity as well. I’m sorry it is all becoming rather unwieldy now and a new home is required, but it occurred to me that it is an analogy for all the homeless men, women and children in our divisive and harsh world who are looking for sanctuary, just as the incumbents of the first nativity did, but only found slammed doors.
