Young people have plainly got a taste for a showdown between good and evil


 

J.K. ROWLING may be taking over the universe – Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the latest film in her World of Magic to follow the Harry Potter ones – but quality control is another matter. The best thing about the latest is that Johnny Depp has a weird glass eye, which I suppose is an outward sign of inner evil.

He’s plainly the Hitler of the wizarding world, holding rallies for pure-blood wizards, which beat those of Nuremberg in that they feature a ring of blue flames. But really, if I hadn’t had an 11-year-old with me, I would have got entirely lost. On the bright side, the backdrop was mostly Paris, which is always nice.
