G’Wed, ITVx’s new comedy drama series, is the Liverpudlian answer to the wildly popular Derry Girls on Channel 4. It has even lifted the latter’s plot device of introducing a know-nothing southern stranger to be the useful butt of some regional playground banter. I didn’t much like Derry Girls (and reviewed it in these pages) but it had its moments: at its best there was a warmth to it.
