He is the “Asian Francis”. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle has developed a powerful voice in global Catholicism. He is an enthusiastic supporter of the Pope’s causes while offering his own compelling example of servant leadership. The cardinal, who is president of Caritas, the Church’s charitable arm, has been in Rome recently for two high-profile events. First, he launched a Caritas campaign to welcome migrants, then he spoke at a major congress hosted by the Pontifical Gregorian University focused on the protection of children in the digital world.
