The road from Jerusalem to Jericho goes past my door and yours and we go down it every day. This was one of the most memorable sentences I ever heard in a homily. It is now almost half a century since I heard these words and the idea of travelling that road stays with me to this day.
The Via Dolorosa is another famous road we read about in Scripture; the road is still there in Jerusalem, which is believed to be the actual path Jesus walked to Mount Calvary. Some of us are privileged to have walked in Jesus’ steps on that road; but it is not something most of us will ever get the opportunity to do.
