Like Mary, in grief

Lent in the Year of Mercy offers a special opportunity to recall loved ones who have died. The grief many of us carry may be too deep even for tears. A remembrance stole can point powerfully to the Resurrection Memories Make the past present. When we gather to share the story of Jesus’ life, death and Resurrection, we do more than recall a series of past events. In the present moment, we experience here and now the saving presence of Jesus among us and we look forward with hope to the future. As we take part in the Eucharist, the Lord who died and rose again breaks through the limitations and the barriers of time and place. Grief is the inevitable feeling that accompanies any bereavement. Grief is necessary for us to do some work on the way our inner renewal. To help get through this difficult period in life can understand the work and the stages, of which it is composed.
