Another day, another milestone
Historic ecumenical liturgical moments in London are becoming like its buses: none for ages, then several come along at once.

First was the homily given last November at the General Synod service in Westminster Abbey by the preacher to the papal household, Fr Raniero Cantalamessa, in front of the Queen and the Archbishop of Canterbury. Then, last month, Cardinal Vincent Nichols presided over Vespers in the Chapel Royal of Hampton Court Palace, the first Catholic service held there for 450 years.
