Between the lines

Adult colouring is this year’s vogue hobby, with colouring-in books making up a quarter of Amazon UK’s current top 20 best-sellers. So it was only a matter of time before Christian publishers jumped on the bandwagon. Willow House Books has this month released a Scripture colouring book, Meditations, priced at £7.99, which features 18 hand-drawn designs based on Scripture verses. The pages are detachable so you can give your finished doodles away.

Also this month, Redemptorist Publications has released a Pope Francis colouring book, priced £8.95. It features 100 Pope Francis quotes alongside intricate frames to colour in. Described as a creative way to pray and reflect on Francis’ words, it includes lines from homilies, speeches and documents, such as an excerpt (pictured) from Misericordiae Vultus, the papal bull that indicted the Year of Mercy: “The mercy of God is his loving concern for each one of us.”
