Peace is in danger of breaking out between the Church and Stonewall, the gay equality organisation. Ruth Hunt, the new chief executive, is a practising Catholic and says she wants to build better relations with faith leaders.  She is in a civil partnership with her partner, Kirsty, and attends Mass in her local parish in London. “I have been a Catholic all my life,” she told us, adding that she was “deeply concerned” when she realised she was gay, fearing that this might come at some cost to her faith. “I made the decision it would not.
