We can now reveal the ingredients of the “red hat cocktail” created especially to celebrate Vincent Nichols being made a cardinal earlier this year. The cardinal, pictured left, joined guests at a party last week thrown by the Friends of Westminster Cathedral where they were served the drink, which includes champagne, raspberry purée and lemon vodka, and is topped with a floating raspberry to represent the red hat. It was concocted by the head barman of the Goring Hotel, Victoria, central London, where the papal entourage stayed during Benedict XVI’s 2010 visit to Britain. Bar staff at the Goring have said they would be delighted to mix the drink for anyone who asks although it will not be listed on the menu and will cost £17 plus service. At the party, Card
