UN paves way for genocide charges

Campaigners for Christian and Yazidi victims of Islamic State (IS) violence welcomed a UN resolution that paves the way for members of the jihadist group to be brought to justice for “acts that may amount to genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity”, writes Abigail Frymann Rouch. The cross-bench Catholic peer Lord [David] Alton told The Tablet the measure marked “a hugely important first step”.
