Pope sorry for ‘rabbits’ remark

The Pope has said that he is “truly sorry” for saying that there was no need for Catholics to breed “like rabbits”. Francis caused dismay among parents of larger Catholic families when he said on his flight home from the Philippines that three children was “about right” for a family. Archbishop Giovanni Becciu, number two at the secretariat, said “the Pope is truly sorry” his remarks “caused such disorientation”.
