It was gratifying and heart-warming to observe over a million young Catholics greeting the Holy Father in Rome recently.
Their warmth and enthusiasm as they participated in the open-air Mass was impressive and the opportunity to capitalise on this obvious outpouring of the work of the Holy Spirit should not be missed by the church authorities. With the closure of parishes, seminaries and religious orders reaching a critical level, other means to harness this phenomenon must be urgently considered.
